Nothing seems to break your relationship deadlock.
You never talk about the elephant in the room. Remarks pass between you and your partner, but they fail to resolve anything. It’s hard to remember the last time you felt even remotely happy.
You’ve done everything you could think of to come together, including diet, exercise, date nights, and exotic vacations, but nothing seems to be working.
It’s hard to find someone decent, but you still feel like you keep coming up empty-handed.
You wonder if you should get back out there and keep looking for the right one.
What you need and what you want is…
…a pathway forward in your life. Is it that you need what you want, or is it you want what you need?
You want to know how to have an awareness to listen to your inner self better and move toward feeling like your relationship is solid – either this one or another one.
Knowing how to gain this awareness is something you need.
Finding the right therapist is critical.
You want a therapist who truly understands LGBTQ relationship issues and not someone you must educate about the community and how things work.
This therapist needs to be someone who sees beyond the surface façade you present to the world and digs beneath the surface even though you look fine.
The right therapist should be capable of championing the incredible strengths you DO possess; a therapist who will admire you for the great bravery and tenacity you have to start exploring the pros and cons.
Here’s what to expect from therapy with me.
Therapy with me will begin with a free 15-minute consultation. This consultation will allow me to learn more about you, why you want my help, and address any questions or concerns. If we think we are a good fit to work together, we can schedule our first session.
Typically, we will meet weekly on the same day and time for 45-minute sessions. Currently, I am only working remotely on Zoom. For more in-depth therapy, we can arrange twice-per-week sessions.
Therapy is hard work. I always say that if it were easy, everyone would be doing it! It’s not easy to take a hard look at yourself and admit that you need help.
Together, we will create a plan to help you go from point A to point B or start becoming unstuck as you find a new path forward.
Break the deadlock and move forward.
Therapy helps you figure things out and move forward. With individual relationship therapy, you will start to see the glass half-full, not half-empty.
You can become excited about your relationship and life again as you work toward the goals we will plan together. Then, you can start going out again to see friends and family with a renewed sense of excitement about either staying in your current relationship or pursuing a different one.
You know if you don’t do anything, you will be back to square one.
If you’re ready to take the next step to explore your relationship, don’t hesitate any longer and call me at (914) 424-6511.
